About Alcohol and Drug Rehab
In-patient alcohol and drug rehab is generally accepted to be the most effective way to overcome addictions and dependency. A residential alcohol and drug rehab can offer you everything you need to get your life back on track, including detox, therapy, life skills, accommodation, catering and complementary therapies. Different rehab clinics offer a variety of treatment programmes that are individually tailored to ensure you get the best possible treatment for your personal circumstances. Steps2Rehab will help find the right rehabilitation treatment centre to suit you.
Why Choose an In-patient Alcohol and Drug Rehab?
Medical, psychological and social aspects of recovery are considered in great detail at residential treatment centres. Every aspect of the programmes, facilities, environment and support on offer are centered around allowing you the time to recover in a safe, confidential and appropriate environment. Experienced and qualified staff are usually on hand 24 hours a day, providing you with constant support as you progress through your programme and develop life strategies that enable you to cope with the changes you are likely to experience. The support and safe environment provided at treatment centres has been designed for optimum results and is an essential part of your recovery.
How will Alcohol and Drug Rehab help?
Concerns about daily living, such as cooking and time keeping are alleviated by a structured treatment programme, allowing you to make the best of everything that the alcohol and drug rehab rehab has to offer. Adopting a collective approach to get you well, in-patient rehab has the added benefit of ‘in house’ multiple support groups. Staff and peers are able to offer you a multifaceted support structure, permitting in depth consideration of your problems, using a wide spectrum of resources to help you overcome your alcohol or drug illness. Through this process you can learn strategies to help you live successfully in recovery when you finish your stay. The benefits of having alcohol and drug professionals and peers who really understand what you are going through is key to the success of in-patient alcohol and drug rehab clinics.
Alcohol and Drug Rehab - A Problem Shared
Collective goals, mutual experiences and someone to share your experiences with are considered to be fundamental for long-term recovery. These are things that out-patient treatment, day-care and counselling, no matter how intense, cannot achieve. Addressing your individual problems and replacing them with a motivational and outward looking environment is the main aim of an in-patient alcohol and drug rehab, and one that really makes residential rehab the only valid option if you want to start your life of recovery with the best possible chance of staying well in the long term.
How long Do I Need to Be there to Achieve the Best Results?
Success, in terms of long-term abstinence, is usually linked to the duration of treatment. We advise a minimum of 4 weeks and ideally 6 weeks. Relapse rates soar for treatments of less than 4 weeks. For those under 25 we would tend to recommend at least 6 weeks, and ideally 12 weeks, although it depends on so many other factors that it is best for the clinic to advise you on how long you will need and this could change as you go through the programme.
Detox alone is unlikely to result in long-term recovery. This is because important psychological work must be completed to help the individual understand their addiction and develop strategies to avoid future relapse. Whilst detox is vital for many individuals, it is not always a necessary step in order to maintain a long-term recovery. In-patient rehab is the crucial element in the overall treatment process.
